Called to Serve

Oh. My heart at this moment is just breaking! Tonight as I logged onto my facebook account I received my last message from a very good friend of mine who is leaving tomorrow to serve a two year mission for my church. As of tomorrow Elder Harris will be his name and spreading the lords work will be his game. He has so much "sweet" sincere compassion for his fellow man. Always the gentleman and making sure he gave a hug to everyone these last few Sundays. I, of course had to keep going back for at least "one more" as I would say. And with a huge smile, he would open up his big arms and always give me the so called "last one". He's been my steady car date "aka ride" to YSA activities and ALWAYS he would delve into conversation on Twilight. He is my first guy friend who heard me speak about it and came running up to me one Sunday and with a HUGE smile he snuck up and said "Guess who read and Loved Twilight ?"

Joe. I JUST LOVE YOU! What more can I say but that my heart has always had a small crush on you. You've been the little brother in the background when I would stay over with your sisters to this year being the big guy that every one fell in love with!
Here's alitte of what he said tonight and I must admit, it made me cry!

...Thanks Tierra.....this will be my last comment from me for two years....I have to say it has been an honor to be YOUR truly great friend. I am glad I had the chance to get to be your friend. I am telling you what.....we are watching Twilight when I get home!! OK??? lol Thanks for every thing. God Bless you , MY friend..

I remember well the days of sending off all my missionaries and writing lots and lots of (what I hoped) were meaningful letters. What a nice tribute to your friend. Go Elder Harris!

What a cute, and good kid.
If you come out west, you'll be closer to him! :)

He sounds like he is going to be a great Missonary. We need more like him. I am so glad you have him as one of your friends. You are such a good person too.
